
About Course
Course objectives: introduction to the educational process of the basic system of theoretical concepts of modern media, allowing to consciously interpret the practices of modern media; formation of skills in researching the information space and critical thinking, development of skills in using media practices through project activities.
Course objectives:
-forming ideas about the development of research on the information space and its channels, the ability to theoretically and empirically analyze audiovisual media;
-mastering the methods/techniques of critical thinking, analysis of pragmatics, semantics, syntax of media text;
-determination of their features and significance in the structure of the text;
-mastering the categorical apparatus of modern media criticism;
-developing skills of semiotic analysis of media representations of contemporary culture, orientation in the issues of public broadcasting and media influence technologies.
Course Content
Lecture 1: The phenomenon of multimedia. Genesis and evolution of multimedia technologies. Multimedia and hypertext.
Lecture 2: Digital culture and digitalization of museum activities. Digital music and theater.
Practical lesson: Defining the basic categories of digital culture.
