Tyler L. Jaynes, B.Sc. (2018), is an independent researcher who has written about, and spoken on, a wide range of ethical and legal challenges presented by various emerging technologies since 2017. His professional membership includes the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA).
Of particular interest, much of his work has focused on the legal and regulatory gaps presented by advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems, AI-driven assistive bionic prosthetics, and immersive extended reality (XR) modalities. He served as Standards Committee Chair for the IEEE Nanotechnology Council from 2021 – 2023, and has served as Vice-Chair or Secretary for several standard development groups related to AI and XR through the IEEE SA.
